The Best Things In Life ARE Free ...

... and that's official!

A year or so ago I was honoured to be a volunteer at the Manchester Literature Festival.

I can even say: "Been there, done that - got the rather fancy t-shirt".

I'm now happy to tell you about the local Poets and Players series, featuring both established and new writers.

Next up is a free performance on Saturday 13 June (2.30 p.m.) in the South Gallery of the Whitworth Art Gallery when the lead poet will be Claire Crowther, whose first collection, Stretch of Closures, was shortlisted for the Jerwood/Aldeburgh Best First Collection Prize. Her next work, The Clockwork Gift, has just been launched.

Also reading will be Meirion Jordan and Jo Haslam. Music will be provided by Carole Isis, a US singer/songwriter.
