We’re Thrilled That ‘It’s A Girl’!

I’m re-posting the link to the clip below although it’s already appeared on Facebook and elsewhere.

I’m making an exception because of its important message.

But there are other reasons, too.

First, it shares a theme with a flash story I published this week.

So I invite you to read Strangled By Shame - http://wwwperfectlywritefamilytales.blogspot.co.il/2013/01/strangled-by-shame.html.

Second, a widely praised film, The Invisible War, dealing with sexual assault in the U.S. military is among those tipped for the Best Documentary Oscar at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. We’ll learn much more on Sunday February 24. Suffice to say, U.S. President Obama is among its ardent fans.

Meanwhile, I leave ‘the floor’ open to the makers of the It’s A Girl music video who are fighting to end the evil practice of ‘gendercide’ – killing baby girls - simply because they’re not boys.

This is what they say:

“We are so excited to be the first to share with you the It's a Girl music video! Please take a minute right now to watch it and share with your friends.

“After seeing just the film trailer, Omékongo Dibinga was inspired to lend his voice to help end gendercide. Omekongo - a rapper, trilingual poet, CNN contributor, motivational speaker and the Director of UPstander International - put pen to paper and wrote this amazing hip-hop song. He says:

"’I wrote this song because hip-hop is a global force. Yet too many hip-hop artists do not use their powerful skills and influence to speak on issues like these. I want to use my talent to make a positive change in this world.’ - Omékongo.

“If you want to help make a positive change in this world, please watch and share this inspiring music video. Learn more about the story behind the video on our website.

“Thank you!

“The It's a Girl Team”
