Why the U.K.’s Losing A ‘Mensch'?

Louise Mensch says she has resigned as  an MP due to an ever-increasing clash of professional and family responsibilities.

Mrs Mensch,  in her seat for Corby and East Northamptonshire for less than two years, is married to New York-based music manager, Peter Mensch. She first came to fame as ‘chick lit’ writer, Louise Bagshawe.

There will be many British people reading pro-Israel blogs like mine who will miss her sorely. I am convinced – as I am sure others are – that the reasons for her departure are far  more complex than her official statement suggests.

In recent months she has fought Internet ‘trolls’, served as a high-profile witness at the Leveson Inquiry into Press standards and must suffer regular threats from Israel bashers and blatant antisemites.

As one British expat to another, I wish her every success and happiness in the U.S.A.
