Prayers for #Bring Back Our Boys Cross Religious Divides

The video clip below has been  created by Shmueli Music as part of the international #Bring Back Our Boys campaign being run on behalf of the three teenage Orthodox Jewish yeshiva (Talmudic seminary) students who were were kidnapped a week ago by Palestinian terrorists.

Israel, world Jewry and non-Jewish friends of Israel and the Jewish community are united in supporting the struggle to bring about the safe return of  Naftali Frenkel, Gil-Ad Sha’ar and  Eyal  Yifrach. 

I hope the Orthodox community both inside Israel and abroad is aware that their  non-Orthodox and secular counterparts are also actively involved and that the Rabbinical Assembly of the Masorti Movement in Israel, for example, has written a prayer especially for the boys. This was recited last night by members of the Kehilat Hakerem Congregation in Karmiel, Galilee.

“A Prayer for the Safe Return of Kidnapped Israelis”

“God of Israel,
Beneficent sovereign of all Creation,
enable us now
to have true faith
and to pray and to call out to You
with plea after plea,
so that our cry might rise
to the very Gates of Mercy,
to Mercy itself.
And all reality shall be turned around
so that relief, rescue, and life
may be the lot of those young men,
Ya’akov Naftali ben Rahel (Frenkel),
Gil-ad Micha’el ben Bat-Galim (Shaar)
and Eyal ben Iris Teshura (Yifrach).
Act on their behalf, Lord,
take up their cause without delay,
and may You grant them life and blessing forevermore.      
So may it be Your will,
and let us say: Amen”.
