None of us realises how lucky we are to enjoy full use of our five senses until one of them is lost.
So I was delighted to learn that the Sign Language Theatre Laboratory in Israel is preparing to host
a performance of American Sign Language poetry and story-telling.
The artistes are deaf poet Peter Cook and his hearing colleague, Kenneth Lerner of the Flying Words Project whose show will feature simultaneous interpretations into English with Hebrew captions. The FWP specialises in workshops and performances aimed at international audiences of both deaf and hearing people.
The performance takes place on Sunday 31 May at 20:00 in the Na Laga’at Centre, Jaffa Port at 8.00 p.m.
Ticket details, etc are available on tel: 03-6330808 or at: http://nalagaat.org.il/.
