Peace in Pieces – Bits and Pieces!

One million quilted peace squares - or the resolution of the Middle-East conflict!

This is the challenge issued by leaders of the Galilee Piece for Peace Quilt Project who aim to create a giant patchwork quilt serving as an engaging visual expression of the deep longing for peace in the region.

People are invited to contribute their own peace squares say Aliza Erez, Barbara Bamberger and Sara Caspi.
But while it may be local in concept, the women say their plan has “sprouted wings and ‘flown’ to all corners of the world”.

Under the auspices of The Women's Forum of Misgav-Karmiel, the completed pieces are now being displayed in an exhibition at Karmiel’s cultural centre that was launched on Sunday at a reception with musical entertainment.
