Shema Israel, Adonai, Eloheynu, Adonai Echad.
Baruch Shem Kevod, Malchuto, L'Olam Va'ed
Adonai, Adonai, Yeshua Ha'Mashiach Hu AdonaiEvery knee shall bow, every tongue confess
that Yeshua, our Messiah is Lord
He is Lord, He is Lord
He has risen from the dead and he is Lord
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess
that Yeshua, our Messiah is Lord
This video was uploaded onto YouTube by a group named ‘Sisloc’ in July 2011. The girls say:
“We sing this song every weekend at Shabbat Service - this is our version of the Shema. It's our Pledge of Allegiance to Messiah Yeshua :) Be Blessed!”
I ought to applaud these lovely girls for their delightfully sincere rendition of the first few lines of the central Jewish prayer, Shema Yisroel. ('Hear O Israel'). Instead I must inform them they are doing both Judaism and Christianity a huge disservice by combining the two.
My very dear young ladies, you cannot have it both ways. Either you recite Shema Yisroel - about the unity of the God of Judaism or you sing a very different song about the trinity of Jesus Christ – the Christian ‘Messiah’. As it is, you rendition is a grave insult to both religions. I'm sorry that I must be so harsh.
