Israel’s Top Guns At ‘The Big Tent’

Despite the attendant silliness I expect as part of the preparations for large scale events organised by the Manchester Jewish community, I am delighted that not only is the much  vaunted ‘Big Tent’ for Israel’ going ahead on Sunday 27 November - but that my warm acquaintance Stuart Palmer is among the star attractions.

Stuart.PalmerStuart, U.K.-born but a long-term Haifa resident, spends his retirement working in Israel advocacy as Director of ICAN (the International Citizens Action Network). He will be in ‘The Big Tent’ as chairman of CoHaV – the Coalition of Israel Advocacy Volunteers.

But the star of the show will be keynote speaker, Daniel Taub, Israel’s new Ambassador to the U.K. Moreover, Taub is due to make another visit to Manchester – the home of the U.K.’s second largest community – in early December.

The impressive guest list also includes a large group of Christian supporters of Israel, Scots academic Dr Denis MacEoin and Manchester-born Marcus Sheff, Executive Director of The Israel Project's Israel Office, whose mother Sylvia helped to form the Conservative Friends of Israel.

Online registration is open on the event website at: www.thebigtentforisrael.org.

There is free entrance e for ages 11+, 6th formers and students.
